LWVCO A Vote To Celebrate!. The LWVCO A Vote To Celebrate! event is a celebration of the passing of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed woman in the U.S. the right to vote.

There will be a reception with generous hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Enjoy the "War of Roses" story told by Dennis Gallagher, an extraordinary storyteller.

Tickets are available online or by mail. Adults: $50 and children up to 18: $40. The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Colorado 501(c)3. The registration deadline is August 14.

  LWVCO Lasso the Historic Rockies Tour - CANCELED BY LWVCO. Join the League of Women Voters of Colorado for a week-long tour of the beautiful mountain areas of Colorado. Participants will retrace the popular Circle Route that was popular back in the 1920's. The tour will start in Denver, continue through the Big Thompson Canyon, include a stay in Estes Park, continue on the old Fall River Road over the Continental Divide, take Trail Ridge Road to Grand Lake for a boat tour, and return to Denver via Berthoud Pass.

The two days in Denver will include dinner at the Molly Brown House. There will be two days in Estes Park, with lunch and a ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel. The visit to Grant Lake will include seeing the Kaufmann House Museum. The return over scenic Berthoud Pass to Denver will include a Winter Park chair lift ride and stops at Chief Hosa Lodge and Buffalo Bill's grave.

Open to League members in the U.S. The cost is $3,200 per person.

National Women's March on Washington. The National League of Women Voters board of directors has voted unanimously to participate in the Women's March on Washington.

The LWVCO annual Colorado Leader of Democracy Recepton will honor Dottie Lamm, former First Lady of Colorado and U.S. Senate candidate and first Board President of The Women's Foundation of Colorado, as the 2016 recipient. This is the signature fundraising event for State League.

The Crawford Hill Mansion was built in 1906 for Crawford and Louise Hill and is one of Denver's finest examples of French Renaissance architecture. Tours will be offered during the event.

LWVCO Legislative Conference. The annual League of Women Voters of Colorado Legislative Conference will begin with a 2014 Legislative Preview at the Colorado State Capitol. Former Representative Claire Levy, recently named Executive Director of the Colorado Center on Law and Policy, will speak on efforts to close the income gap and the seven bills the Economic Opportunity and Poverty Reduction task force has introduced this legislative session.

This will be followed by lunch with LWVCO lobbyist Christine Watson at History Colorado. Registration includes history museum admission, so that participants may tour the museum after lunch.

The registration deadline has passed, but if you are interested in attending you might give the LWVCO a call at 303-863-0437. If you can't attend, a summary of the proceedings will be in our February newsletter.
