LWVCO Meeting to Vote on Proposed New Position Supporting 1st Amendment

League members in Colorado are invited to presentations and will be asked to decide on approving a new position supporting the first amendment.
From January through February, Jeff Oster, lead of the Religious Freedom Study, will host in-person presentations statewide. These sessions, open to all League members, will provide historical context on the First Amendment, explore challenges like religious nationalism, and discuss tax-funded support of private and religious schools. The presentations will foster discussion and clarity on these critical issues.
A statewide vote on this position is scheduled for March 1, 2025. Local Leagues will debate the proposal with their members and cast one collective vote to LWVCO. A simple majority is required for approval.
