About this event

The Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission, formerly the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, will hold a public hearing on proposed State Sunlight-Long fracking wells in-person.

The League of Women Voters of Arapahoe and Douglas Counties supports better protections for nearby neighborhood residents' and school students' health and safety and for the environment. We encourage submitting public comments on these proposed wells.

Public comments can also be made online. On July 29, 2025 the Crestone State Sunlight/Long Oil and Gas Development Plan (docket #241200313) passed completeness. The 45-day public comment period is now open. Submit written comments using the ECMC efiling system (reference docket No. 241200313) here:  submit comments to ECMC online.

The CO ECMC webpage with information about the proposed drilling in Southeast Aurora is  ECMC Sunlight-Long project.

The CO ECMC's online meeting tentatively scheduled for October 29 will cover this proposed drilling. Check back for updates.
