About this event

John Lewis and civil rights activists marching for civil and voting rights in Selma, AL

Honor the life and legacy of Congressman John Lewis as we continue to demand legislation that protects voting rights!

League is part of the nation-wide campaign to demand that the U.S. Congress prioritizes passage of these bills to protect voting rights and secure statehood for Washington, DC:
  • John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act
  • Freedom to Vote Act
  • Native American Voting Rights Act
  • The Washington, DC Admission Act

  • Did you know?
DC has more residents than Vermont or Wyoming
DC residents pay more in federal taxes than 21 other states
    DC’s 689,545 residents deserve representation
This is an effort by a broad coalition of organizations working to protect democracy and end voter suppression.
